Warm Up Phase

Use the Fitmoji Apple Watch app for about a week, so we can evaluate your activity level. This helps us fairly determine which league you should join.

2
RSVP

You'll be invited to join a competitive league with users who have similar goals and activity levels. No need to worry about competing with olympic runners for daily steps, unless you are also an olympic runner :)

3
Have Fun

Meet your daily goals, climb the leaderboard, and win prizes, which may include cash payouts up to $25,000. You don't have to finish in first place to win something, but you do need to avoid elimination each week.

Open Leagues

You'll be invited to join a competitive league based on your activity level and goals. The bottom 2-20% of participants are eliminated from the tournament each week. Track your progress on our public leaderboards and post stories for your fans.

Big Steppers

Earn 1 point for every step you take. You'll be placed into one of the following leagues based on your average daily steps:

  • Junior Varsity: 4,000 steps
  • Varsity: 8,000 steps
  • Olympic: 12,000 steps

Bonfire

Earn 1 point for every calorie burned. You'll be placed into one of the following leagues based on your average daily calorie burn:

  • Junior Varsity: 600 calories
  • Varsity: 900 calories
  • Olympic: 1,200 calories

Marathon

Earn points for every mile you run. You'll be placed into one of the following leagues based on your average daily distance:

  • Junior Varsity: 1 mile
  • Varsity: 3 miles
  • Olympic: 5 miles

How to Enter

The only checklist you'll need. Limited to contestants over the age of 18. Join the Waitlist

  • Download the Fitmoji App

Join our waitlist to get notified when it is available.

  • Install the Fitmoji Apple Watch App

You need a compatible Apple Watch to participate. The Fitmoji app is available for the Apple Watch Series 4 and later. WatchOS 10+ is required.

  • Enable Apple Health Access

Enable access to your Apple Health Activity data. This is required to participate in the tournament.

  • Qualifying Period

Use the Fitmoji app as part of your daily routine for about one week with Coach Mode enabled (on by default). Coach Mode is required to participate in challenges and must remain enabled for the duration of the league. By the end of June, all qualifying participants will receive an invitation to a competitive league. A signed liability waiver is required to participate. You can opt out of the challenge at any time.

  • League Assignment

We use AI-driven algorithms to determine which league you can participate in. This ensures fairness and that you're competing with people that are around your fitness/experience level.

  • Weekly Challenges

Each week, you have to exercise and complete challenges. At the end of each week, the bottom 2-20% of participants are eliminated from each league. A public leaderboard will be available. Each participant will be given an opportunity to post a "story" to their leaderboard profile each week.

  • The Final Round

The top percentile of each qualifying league will be invited to compete in the Fitmoji Grand Finale in late September. The winner will be announced in September and will receive a cash payout of $25,000.

Giving Back: We'll match up to 25% of any challenge winnings donated to a U.S. nonprofit

Frequently Asked Questions

We get these all the time, so we've answered them here.

The Fitmoji app is now availble for iPhones via the App Store. We're planning to launch an Android compatible version later this year.

No, but you do have to be consistent. We place users in leagues based on their activity level, so you'll initially compete against people with similar fitness levels. Consistency and improvement matter more than being a superstar athlete.

Fitmoji is free to download and use. Tournament participation is voluntary with no entry fees. Cash prizes range from small weekly rewards to up to $25,000 in our September finale. You don't need to finish first to win something!

The tournament begins in July or once we reach 500 contestants on our waitlist. We need enough participants to create fair and competitive leagues. Check our progress bar above to see how close we are! You'll be notified via email when tournament registration opens.

Absolutely! You can add people to your Fitmoji circle to track each other's progress. While tournament leagues are based on activity levels, you can still cheer each other on and see who performs best in your friend/family group.
